Programs & Events Schedule

The Sherburne History Center provides a variety of programs and events for all ages. Monthly highlights include Book Club, Family History Class, and Elk River History Buffs. Annually we hold a Winter Lecture Series, Sherburne History Day birthday party, summer Ice Cream Social, and the Christmas Tree Ornament Festival. We also have an Annual Meeting, fundraisers, and volunteer appreciation events. With nearly 100 programs per year, there’s always something going on at SHC!

April

2 – 1:00 pm – Book Club: Weird Minnesota by Eric Dregni – The SHC Book Club meets on the first Thursday of each month to discuss books of local historical interest or which were written by Minnesota authors. CANCELLED
4 – 7:00 pm – Rhythm & Brews Fundraiser benefitting the Sherburne History Center and Friends of Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge: Beer and wine tasting, raffles, cash games, live music by Silo Shinola. Tickets $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Must be 21+ to attend. POSTPONED, TBA
16 – 9:30 am – Elk River History Buffs: Topics of local historical interest offered at the Elk River Activity Center, 413 Proctor Ave. CANCELLED

2 – National History Day state competition at the University of Minnesota
7 – 1:00 pm – Book Club: A Cry in the Night by Mary Higgins Clarke – The SHC Book Club meets on the first Thursday of each month to discuss books of local historical interest or which were written by Minnesota authors.
10 – Happy Mother’s Day!
21 – 9:30 am – Elk River History Buffs: Topics of local historical interest offered at the Elk River Activity Center, 413 Proctor Ave.
23 – 10:30 am – Family History Class: SHC Executive Director and Genealogist Mike Brubaker teaches tips and tricks to further your family research.
25 – Memorial Day


Fun place to visit. Employees are fantastic and helpful. Highly recommend. Trails to go walking on, local history and other fun stuff to do here.
