Great Stories...Cool Stuff
This exhibit highlights a sampling of artifacts from our museum collection. These artifacts sometimes arrive with great stories attached to them, but sometimes the donations are simply "cool stuff."
For example, have you ever seen a silk ball gown from the 1880s? At right is a beautiful example.
Over the past 33 years families, businesses, and organizations have generously donated thousands of artifacts to the Sherburne County Historical Society (SCHS). SCHS was officially organized in 1972, but did not begin collecting until 1976. The first artifact collected by the museum is a postal sorting box from Big Lake which is on display in this exhibit.
Many other artifacts are also on display, some very old and some you might remember from your youth!
