While the History Center holds indexes to some public records, the Sherburne County Recorder maintains the actual birth, marriage and death records and will provide an official copy.
Note that the Society's marriage index database includes all the information on the marriage record, and the Society can provide it if an official copy is not needed.
Copies of records that can be released to the public can be ordered from the Sherburne County Recorder.
For more information on ordering copies of birth and death certificates, please see the web site for the Minnesota Department of Health at http://www.health.state.mn.us/forms.html. This site includes copies of the forms needed for ordering vital records and information about what is meant by "tangible interest."
To facilitate locating the record, cite any index information found on this site. Note that the Society's cemetery index can be a lead to locating a county death record. If the county does not have the record, the payment will be returned.
