In accordance with Emergency Executive Order 20-04, the Sherburne History Center is temporarily closed. We hope to re-open May 1. Until then all programs and events are cancelled.

The Sherburne History Center provides a variety of programs and events for all ages, from monthly book club and history classes to annual fundraisers and social events. With nearly 100 programs per year, there’s always something going on at SHC!


Programs & Events

The Sherburne History Center encourages groups of all ages to visit our museum! We offer guided group tours as well as field trips. During your visit you will get a guided tour of the exhibit gallery, enjoy hands on activities and games, and discover the history of this place we call home.

We also can bring a tailored program to your group or classroom with visual presentations as well as hands-on objects.

Host your next workshop, retreat, or family event at the Sherburne History Center. Our meeting room overlooks picturesque Clitty Lake. It can be divided into two rooms for breakout sessions.


Meeting Rooms

Facility use fees vary depending on whether a group is a non-profit or a business.
Members at the Booster Level and above receive a discount on room rentals.

Membership & Support

The Sherburne History Center counts on memberships and donations for financial support. There are many ways to support SHC and our efforts to preserve Sherburne County’s history, including general donations, sponsorship opportunities, our Legacy Brick program, planned giving programs, and shopping at the museum store.
Join us to ensure strong programs and the preservation of the county’s historical resources.


Become a permanent partner in the Sherburne History Center through the Legacy Brick program. For a $300 tax-deductible donation, a personalized 4″ x 8″ Legacy Brick will be included as a permanent feature of the outdoor plaza where visitors gather to hear stories about the land of Sherburne County and the people who shaped it. Legacy Brick(s) are inscribed with your personalized commemoration. Ideas include:

  • Your family name or those of your grandparents, parents, or children
  • Your business or your employees
  • Your organization, church, school or club
  • Important birthdays, anniversaries, graduations or other significant events
